Back From SP Astro

Well I went to the SP Astro camp... it was cool. I met a few friends there and well we went to play icebreaker games (bleh played too much in my life already.) Then intro to SP astro. so yah. Then we learnt how to set up a telescope. Well too bad no pics cuz i dont have a cam. But I swear on my life that i did these stuff.

So this is how to set up a tele.

1. Set up tripod.

2. Fix mount on tripod.

3. put the Counterweight below the mount. (this makes sure the telescope didnt drop)

4. put the telescope.

5. put the finder in (its a smaller telescope that u use to find stuff to look at before zooming in with the big one.)

6. Put eyepiece and diagonal thingy on to the telescope.

Then you keep adjusting the counterweight until you feel like dying to ensure that the moments of the telescope and the counterweight are the same about the pivot (principle of moments) or else the telescope wil start swinging when you wanna see stuff.

Then got nightwalk. Sucks. Lights are still on when got nightwalk.

"Scary" movie watch chucky nia. so bored i went to the stadium with some of the alumni guys to see stars.

Yeah this is the fun part. I managed to see Scorpius (Scorpius rising this time of the year, with Orion setting) and Jupiter. I saw Jupiter's rings and the orange- yellow stripes. So fun.

Then go sleep then next day do blabla shit. I waited for the night observation. Then dandan say not many people want to do the observation. So sad. then go home.

Cosmology & the wisdom of order.

To look up upon the heavens is a previlige that man has. Whenever we look up at night, we see stars. however, what actually are they? Are they the giant balls of gases that science has told us? Or is it actually the embodiments of the divine?

Kosmoi. Logoi. This is what cosmology is all about. The search for meaning in the embodiment of the heavens.

When we study Kosmoi, we should also study about Phusis. Phusis in ancient philosophy is the idea that nature is alive. Everything is embodied under phusis. Humans are controlled by phusis. Animals. Plants. The Earth. the phusis was revered. People respected nature, even revered it. And on top of the Phusis is the ever-present Kosmoi that seem to control the world.

New story!

"Mornin' sunshine," Captain Richards said sardonically. "Got a good nighter?"

"Whatever," Keith said, eyes still closed. "There's no morning or night in space."

"Yeah, but we still got a bloody clock and it's 8. Most of the crew is up at 5 already."

"I'm not some crew member. I'm a Planetary Researcher. Not some deck swabber you can boss around."

"Yeah, well we're on the third bloody rock in the Bootes Alpha system. So earn your grub." Captain finally grunted, leaving the room and the door automatically closed with a swish-thud.

The Draconis is a Sigma class frigate ship, one almost fifty years old and has seen better days. The door did not thud after swishing and the FTL drive was barely held together with generous amounts of duct tape. Of course it was still shiny and looked clean, because the captain hates it when his ship had even a single dirt. The ship was scheduled for decommissioning but Captain Thomas Richards wanted to retire from the Cosmic Service and bought the ship with his life savings because he "always loved to fly". Now his ship is just a taxi to ferry people from place to place.

"Hey, kid. you ready to take some rocks home? Heh."

Well hi :D

so hi

i am bored and I am going poly. haha. So anyway I went Suntec last friday, to go to a talk about IIS. Well i met Sky and Yin liang so yeah. I did my pre enrolment stuff and gonna go to the bank tomorrow to pay like a thousand bucks to the bank because well poly fees. Poly is damn ex. and that includes the grant. If no grant then have to pay 7k SGD. yeah.

Well they also have tuition loan and Mendaki to help reduce cost but mendaki was so evil to me and tuition loan means that I go poly now and pay later, in the end I still have to pay MORE since they have interest. Need to squeeze brain juice later to apply for IIS scholarship. If i get it then i'll be an IDA "Scholar". haha all my frens at sec sch will laugh at me. Already my dad is disturbing me by calling me "scholar". lolssssssssss

so bye since my brain was left in school and i didn't go to school because i dont go to one anymore till april.

Happy new Gregorian and Hijrian but not Julian Year

Well happy belated new year. Basically yeah today is 3 Jan and 6 Muharam. Julian year is also in january but it has a wrong leap year. Instead of 29 Feb every 4 years they had one every 3 years so it was abolished and people use Gregorian. :D

so yeah. I was wondering if people watched the making of the countdown 2008 at marina. The fireworks were nice yes? I only saw those on the tv.

I basically changed the blogskin because it was old. Thought the emotes looked nice.

Yeah I learned to mod PSPs. Basically what you need is a pandora battery and a magic memory stick. Dont ask me why their names are so but some people (the geek devs who made them) named em so. So if ur psp bricked u can ask me to help you and it will cost a buck (well the batt costed me 20 bucks) All that and I dont have a psp. Well i currently possess one but I don't own it. It's my cousin's. Gonna return it tomorrow. So yeah. There goes my pandora.

I also had nothing to do after the O's so basically I stayed home and watch Bleach from episode 1-200. I also managed to clean my room halfway and I feel so sad. I wanna find a job. Not that I need the money but just that I want to learn something new. Just as Robert Kiyosaki said. Don't work for money, work for the experience. And he also said that let the money work for you. lol.

Ahh I had a fully restfull holiday. Still at 90+kg(hovering at 89-92) and plan on losing wait but never did. I guess I never worked hard to lose some weight. Begged my dad for a bike but all he said was "Bicycle! Bicycle! I want to ride my bicycle!" HAHAHA
